We had a great time at Tiffin. We went to the pond in the morning and in the afternoon we did some nature art including our wooden medallions. Thank you so much for our wonderful volunteers that day! We had a lot of fun. Enjoy the pictures!
Mrs. Fremeau has finished her placement with us. We ALL will miss her. She has been a big part of our classroom since January. We wish her success in her chosen career! (She plans on volunteering every two weeks.) Thank you Abbie for teaching our kindergartens how to curl. They loved it! Here are some pictures. Our class won a pizza party for the math minute raiser. Our class raised the most minutes in kindergarten. The students will be receiving ONE slice of cheese pizza on Wednesday, February 4th. Congratulations!
Yesterday, we posted a blog about story books. There was a typo with one letter. Sorry! It was a honest mistake.
We read many story books each week. We have started to read the "Pigeon" books by Mo Willems this week. Today we read ... We have many interesting discussions while reading books. In this book, the duckling asks the pigeon what hotdogs taste like. Here are some answers from our students.
Ethan - pepperoni sticks David - egg sandwiches Riley - ketchup Alex - like hotdogs Charlotte - pepperoni and cheese Annabelle - yummy stuff The students giggled when the pigeon gave his answer. The pigeon said "Well, they are a taste sensation. Each morsel is a joy! A celebration in a bun!" The kindergartens had lots of fun during literacy day. The students loved showing everyone their pajamas. There was a huge discussion in the cubby area. We started the day reading..... At the end of the book there was a special message for the students to come and find the Gingerbread Baby. The students followed the messages around the school until the last message lead back to our classroom. We didn't catch the Gingerbread Baby but the Gingerbread Baby left a special treat for each student. Yummy! After our walk around the school, the students ate their lollipops while completing this special activity. Here are a few examples. Thanks Mrs. Sinkic for taking this picture!
Tomorrow is Literacy Day and Hyde Park is celebrating. The students get to wear their pajamas again. The students will be going to a different classroom to hear another staff member (including Mr. Dorsey & Mrs. Whitley) read a story or two.
